A visual clue for Piero Selvaggio’s passion for wine, and the restaurant’s dedication to it, is the oft-cited, phone book-size wine list that represents a cellar boasting more than 2,800 different labels and 90,000 bottles of wine.
The list includes selections from distinguished vineyards around the world with an emphasis on Italy, France and California, to complement the restaurant’s cuisine.
The restaurant carefully buys wines of outstanding quality, value, and the best representation of a winemaker’s style, and offers choices for all tastes and budgets ranging from rare, exclusive finds like a 1891 Brunello Biondi-Santi Riserva for $25,000 to a number of reasonably priced, high-quality bottles like a 1997 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget, Vosnee-Romanee ($100) or a 1999 Valentini, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo ($95) and even truly affordable treasures in the $50-range, like a 1997 Armando Parusso Bricca Rovella, a 2000 Regaleali Cygnus Sicilia or a 1999 Catena Malbec Mendoza.
To make the wine experience as accessible as possible for guests, the restaurant also pours a weekly-changing selection of at least 10 different wines by the glass, starting at $7.
